Technological advancement has turned out to be beneficial for students, as it can considerably improve the learning process. In daily student life, technology is presented in the form of software and assistive technology products. However, it is crucial to define the exact role of education for students.
The main merits of applying technology in college:
1.Computer and internet technology has turned out to be helpful for students when reading, writing, and calculating. Hence, to No Child Left Behind Act adapted in 2001, instructors should provide students with all necessary facilities required for a diligent study.
2.Technologies are also rather helpful for the teaching stuff, as they provide excellent opportunities to teach and acquire skills for teaching and training abilities.
3.Technologies also manage to meet special needs of students with disabilities thus considerably contributing to learning process. Such technologies make education possible for those who cannot do this on a daily basis.
4.Computer technologies, such as laptops, cell phones, and other mobile technologies have fostered the knowledge acquisition. It also provides students with skills needed for further employment.
What technologies are useful for students?
1.Laptop: this is the first things that a student needs. It helps in writing and formatting essays, reading electronic materials, listening video files, if necessary.
2.Cell phone: this device helps students to be in close touch with other students and professor as well. Hence, it is possible to clarify the scope of assignment or the content of lecture that you missed when you were ill, etc.
3.Xerox: this device is useful, especially if you need the material from the book, which is available at the library. In case you do not have much time for rewriting the ideas from the source, you can copy it and read at home.
4.Scanner: this is also helpful when you need to load the data on your PC.
5.Internet allows you to consult your professor concerning additional materials for the exam or term paper.

Though it is a little on the long side, I think your essay is great! I don't see any reason why you should have to reduce the essay unless you are given a specific word limit.
you may want to explain acronyms (follow that the words mean in parenthesis), because the reader many not know what LAN or UTK/ITK are.
also, an introduction giving reference to your being internationally influence and able to overcome changes may help to set up your essay.
Good Luck with all your admissions,

Honestly you should go and visit some schools. There are a lot of factors here besides what you have already done, and really its more about what you want to do. You have a pretty WIDE group of specializations there…everything from business to poly sci to biology!
My suggestion would be to visit some schools. See what kind of test scores you get and see if you can get some more scholarships. Honestly, you want to go to the school that you think is the best "fit" but money should also factor into your decision. If you have a full ride somewhere then take the free education! I had lots of friends pass up full rides at home to go out of state…only to return a year later and not get the scholarship when they returned. They gave away a free education because they thought going out of state would be more fun. Also, since you don't know what you want to specialize in, it might be a good idea to get your gen eds out of the way at a school where its paid for, then when you have a better idea of what you want to do you can pick a school that has a better reputation in your field of choice.
The internet is a great resource to get an idea as to what schools are like. Also check out the Princeton Review. I'm sure your high school has a copy, or the library might have one. Once you have an idea of your "top schools" then go on a few visits to really see them for yourself. Good luck in your search!

you can get something with less features but more responsive in linux, with the ability to have multiple keyboards as well, or, just the ability of having more than 1 user on more than 1 monitor at the same time. its called mpx, its free, and developed by 1 person. what does that show about microsoft?
