RIM Preparing BlackBerry Application Screen Readers


Jakarta – Blindman also soon be able to use the BlackBerry. Because he was doing, Research In Motion (RIM) as the smart phone manufacturers are developing a special BlackBerry applications for the visually impaired can read the screen.

This rumor stems from news that says that RIM has the latest applications to register patents. Patents are known to optimize the features associated with the BlackBerry for visually impaired users.

Precisely on January 22, 2010 last, RIM is registering a patent application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Applications are described as ‘multi-tap keyboard user interface’ of this function is to provide sound feedback to enable the blind to type on a BlackBerry. Thus the information quoted from Mobile Crunch, Monday (17/05/2010).

Applications will be immersed in the capture command BlackBerry or keypresses on the keyboard users, and then inform the user what button has been pressed in the form of sound. In addition, equipped BlackBerry application could also help explain what the menu is displayed BlackBerry via voice.

Until now there is no justification or an official denial from RIM regarding this matter. However, a clear, RIM is currently developing an application that can help people with limited eyesight to be able to taste the technology involved.
