Finding Trade Shows in Your Area

Finding Trade Shows in Your Area

Trade shows are a great way to help your business gain exposure, to network with other businesses, and to gain new customers. Unfortunately, many businesses have difficulty finding trade shows in their area where they can show off what their company has to offer. Since many businesses do the bulk of their business from their local geographic area, tapping into this market is imperative for the success of the business.

Finding a Local Trade Show Online

One of the best ways to find trade shows in your area is to look online. The Internet is an excellent resource for finding local tradeshows, with many websites being dedicated solely to listing when trade shows will be visiting certain areas.

There are several different websites that can be used to help you find out more information about local tradeshows. Some of these sites include:

- AllConferences.com
- BizTradeShows.com
- EventsEye.com
- Exhibitions.co.uk
- ExpoDatabase.com
- ExpoFairs.com
- ExpoGuide.com
- GlobalSources.com
- JupiterEvents.com
- MyTradeFairs.com
- Tradeshow.alibaba.com
- TradeShowPlaza.com
- TradeShowWeek.com
- TSNN.com
- WhatsShowing.on.ca

Since tradeshows take place around the world and since there are so many different businesses that benefit from the use of tradeshows, there are literally thousands of tradeshow listings within these sites. Therefore, it is beneficial to visit each of these sites and determine which ones are aligned most closely with your business.

The Trade Show News Network, which is found at www.tssnn.com, is a particularly good site to use when looking for local tradeshows. Here, you can find nearly any type of tradeshow by looking through the extensive database that covers both United States and Canada tradeshows.

Expanding Your Geographic Circle

Keep in mind when you are researching tradeshows in your area that you will need to give yourself a wide range of geographic options. Restricting yourself to just the town or city in which your business is located may not be big enough. In addition, if you live near to a major metropolitan area, you will want to look into trade shows in these areas as well. Since these trade shows will likely draw in a large number of visitors, you certainly don’t want to pass up this opportunity.

Going Straight to the Source

In addition to performing searches on the Internet, you can also find out more about tradeshows in your area by contacting trade associations related to professional organizations within your field. By contacting relevant trade associations, you can obtain lists of locations, events, and dates that you can choose from.

Another option is to get in contact with your local chamber of commerce. Your convention and visitor’s bureaus should also be able to give you more information about upcoming events in your area, including tradeshows.

Reading publications related to your field can also be helpful. In fact, most industry-specific publications will provide full year calendars as well as regular updates about upcoming events.

Finding local tradeshows really is not a difficult task. With the help of online publications, local offices, and paper publications such as magazines and newspapers, staying on top of the local tradeshow scene could never be easier.

Sounds like you need to do some networking.

    1) mine your contacts. If you have been in the industry for 10 years, you probably know a lot of people.
There are some neat online tools that might help you out. LinkedIn is one that I recently been introduced to. http://www.linkedin.com
Might be interesting for you, might not.

    2) make sure that your skills and interviewing are up to the standards that these hiring folks are looking for. If people are looking for experience in particular areas, highlight your relevant experience.

    3) try going through a contract or placement firm. Good way to get a short-term contract that might get your foot in the door for future placements if you do a good job.

    Hope that helps

My answer will have three parts:

    1. Make your rental deal more attractive to lessen your fundraising needs.

Michigan real estate is experiencing a huge downturn currently. It has become increasingly difficult for owners of strip malls and other commercial property to find tenants for their buildings. You may be able to negotiate a deal that requires no money down at all. Especially if there are vacancies in the location you are attempting to move to. Explain to the owner that you have a strong background in the type of business you engage in. Don't begin to explain why you do not have enough funds for downpayment or anything of that sort. Point out to the owner that another commercial property has becom available to you with no money out of pocket required and they may lessen their requirements. Building owners need to retain certain occupancy rates to remain profitable and keep their property out of foreclosure. Use this dire need for tenants to you advantage!

    2. Fundraising

I find that most business owners have fund fundraising in the initial phases of their businesses from families or friends. Approach the people that are already in your life, they know your business experience in your field and have seen you succeed at your current location. Structure a program to get a little contribution from a few people rather then looking for one single person to give you the whole amount that you are looking for. Essentially sell "stock" in you business.

-Show sales and profit numbers for the last two years.

    -Have a detailed business plan.

-Explain how this particular location/store would be advantageous to your business.

-Show how you plan to advertise and attract customers.

-Give a realistic expectation of what your expenses would be (staff, electric, heat, advertising, promotions, etc.)

Treat family and friends as you would any other investor and have a "formalized" meeting with them. You want everything to appear professional and well thought out.

The last piece of advice I would give you is to find a possible sponsor. When kids trade cards and play it keeps them off the streets and out of trouble. Offer to host tournaments so many times a week and show how this can benefit the community and make parents feel good about their child's activity. That approach could possibly help you get sponsorship from certain churches, other local businesses, family support groups, etc.

    3. Credit options

Even if you have bad credit you could possibly use another piece of property or vehicle that you own as collateral for a business loan. With this option you also want a professional well though out business plan.

Patterson took over as governor because elected governor resigned,

However witness intimidation is certainly a crime, and that's what it seems he engaged in.

When the governor calls you up the day before you are to go to court to complain about his aide, it is completely inappropriate.

1st Paragraph: No comma after the word "important" in the sentence "It was clear that results were important, and I had to produce without a lot of money or time."

2nd Paragraph (labeled "1"): What is meant by "customer touches?" Is this article written for people in the industry who would know the terms or a general audience? If it is written for those in the industry, then it is probably fine, but change it otherwise.

2nd Paragraph (labeled "1"): Last sentence, don't start a sentence with the word "but." I know its popular, but this is what I have been told for correct grammar in every english class I have ever taken (including college). Its fine if you begin "even if you don't…"

Section labeled "3": 3rd to last sentence in 1st paragraph ("Don't be shy about reaching out…") delete comma after "opportunity." Last sentence ("If they don't have a panel…") add in the word "then" after the comma ("…panel, then ask…")

Last Paragraph: 3rd sentence from beginning of paragraph "The application was accepted, and we…") delete comma after "accepted" so that it reads "The application was accepted and we…"

    Good sir,

You took the time to write this novel out on yahoo answers. In that time you could have called her up and said,

"Lady, I dig you. I've been into you since the moment I saw you, and I'd really like to rock out something more then this casual relationship."

You know, it's probably what she is waiting for.
