Bluetooth is merely a wireless protocol with a range of approximately 30 feet. Stereo Bluetooth is no different than Bluetooth connectivity as it relates to the wireless standard. Add Stereo, and now you're talking about an improved technology.
Typical Bluetooth headsets are mono (singular). Stereo Bluetooth headsets are more akin to Stereo headphones, minus the wires.
You have the superior product, but you're both using the same technology to cut the cord.

Bluetooth wireless technology is a short-range communications technology intended to replace the cables connecting portable and/or fixed devices while maintaining high levels of security. The key features of Bluetooth technology are robustness, low power, and low cost. The Bluetooth specification defines a uniform structure for a wide range of devices to connect and communicate with each other.
It creates a radio link between hardware devices. For example a laptop can communicate with a headset or other peripheral device.
How Bluetooth Technology Works-
The Bluetooth core system consists of an RF transceiver, baseband, and protocol stack. The system offers services that enable the connection of devices and the exchange of a variety of data classes between these devices.
Uses-
-Keep contacts, calendars, and information in sync on your computer, phone, and PDA
-Send files from a computer to a printer wirelessly
-Keep your desktop wire-free by connecting your computer to both a mouse and keyboard
-Keep conference calls hands-free with a speakerphone to mobile phone connection
-Let Bluetooth technology enable your relaxation and fun by facilitating the following connections:
-Print pictures by sending pictures from a camera phone to a printer
-Listen to music on wireless stereo headphones streaming music from home stereo or similar audio devices
-View digital pictures on your television by sending images from laptops or mobile phones over a Bluetooth connection to a media viewer
-Fill your living room with music with a wireless stereo system in which the base station streams audio to the wireless speakers over a Bluetooth connection
-Move freely about your home as Bluetooth technology keeps you connected:
-Talk hands-free on your phone as you go about your daily activities using wireless headset connected to a mobile phone or to a landline phone
-Keep your monthly wireless bill low by using a mobile phone that connects to your landline CTP phone while you are at home
-Whether working in an unconnected room or trying to create an interactive brainstorming session, Bluetooth wireless technology can facilitate your meetings, increasing efficiency and encouraging creative collaboration. Products on the market today allow files to be transferred over Bluetooth connections from one device to others. Products like the eBeam Projection allow white board brainstorming sessions to be saved to a computer wirelessly, while other devices allow multiple participants to contribute.
-Get rid of the wired clutter on desktops and aim for wireless efficiency. Bluetooth enabled wireless keyboards, mice, and presenters simplify the workspace. Wireless syncing of PDAs or mobile phones and computers keep users’ contact lists and calendars up to date, on time, and organized.
-Need a fast, efficient, and secure way to make the sale? Increasingly, mobile point of sale devices are Bluetooth enabled, allowing sales people to process a sale on the road, using a mobile phone to connect to transfer the information over GPRS, EDGE, or UMTS mobile networks. Connect a mobile printer to a laptop using Bluetooth technology and print off a receipt for a customer on the spot. Whether at the office, at a table, or on the road, your workers can reduce the paperwork, eliminate the wait, and make the transaction seamless for the customer.
-Improve logistics efficiency. By using Bluetooth technology for connections, shipping giants UPS and FedEx have decreased the wires that need replacement and increased the efficiency of their workers.
-Talk hands-free on a mobile phone while driving a car. Among the options, a Bluetooth mobile phone can connect to several car models available today and more in the future. If a new car is not an option, retrofit an older car with an aftermarket Bluetooth car kit. Finally, the simple solution for hands-free conversations wherever is a wireless headset and mobile phone combination.
-Talk hands-free on a mobile phone while driving a motorcycle. Pair a Bluetooth mobile phone to the audio system in a Bluetooth enabled motorcycle or to a Bluetooth enabled motorcycle helmet.
-Have a data plan on a mobile phone but really need Internet connection on a computer? Become a mobile hotspot wherever and whenever. Stop searching for those hard to find, expensive Wi-Fi hotspots. Using Bluetooth technology, the computer can connect to the mobile phone and use the mobile phone as a modem. Similarly, a PDA can connect to a mobile phone over a Bluetooth connection to access the Internet. So whether you are traveling across town, out of state, or out of your wireless local area network range, you can stay connected.
-Tired of pockets bulging with devices? Increasingly, companies are designing clothing and accessories that are wired to provide you with wireless connections. Stores today carry Bluetooth enabled jackets, backpacks, and sunglasses that facilitate hands-free conversation. Wearable Bluetooth enabled electronics are here for consumers today to stay connected in style.
-No longer must you stay tethered to devices while at play. Whether biking, hiking, snowboarding, or traveling, Bluetooth technology augments extracurricular activities with a truly wireless experience.
-On the slopes, listen to music wirelessly, pausing to take calls, as you head down the hill. Manufacturers are using Bluetooth technology to connect MP3 player phones to snowboard helmets and beanies with built in stereo headphones.
